Religious Education
Our aim is to deliver a broad curriculum which encompasses our school motto of “Live, Laugh, Learn” and ties in closely with our British Values and RSHE curriculum.
During weekly lessons, children will learn the importance of understanding and respecting the beliefs and core values of others whilst becoming critical and independent thinkers. Through exploring a variety of religious’ beliefs, celebrations and traditions, children will also gain a better understanding of their place in the world.
This will allow children to make connections and comparisons between religions, building on existing knowledge during their four years at Langley Mill Academy, whilst also making inter-disciplinary links across subjects such as history and geography.
The religious education programme that we follow at Langley Mill Academy comes from the Derbyshire Syllabus.
Ask your child what they are focusing on in religious education at the moment!
