Forest Schools
Here at Langley Mill Academy we currently run a Forest School group twice a week. These sessions take place on a Wednesday morning and Thursday afternoon. These sessions are taken by Mr Blake and Miss Clark
What is Forest Schools?
Forest School is an inspirational process, that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.
Every week, groups of children spend the afternoon exploring the outdoors as part of our Forest School Programme. Forest Schools is a long-term programme; it has high staffing ratios working with small groups of children; it takes place in the outdoors; it is lead by qualified level 3 Forest School Leaders, who work together with at least one other adult; it takes place on a weekly basis with the same learners attending the whole process; and it involves an understanding of how children learn and supports them to build confidence, resilience, independence and creativity. Also, it's REALLY fun!
