- Technology has advanced rapidly in recent years, children have access, and are capable users of computers and phones from a young age. As a school we recognise that the benefits of access to this vast array of information is an invaluable resource to our children's education, however we also need to equip them with the tools to enable them to keep themselves safe online and in the digital world. During their computing lessons, children at LMA will be taught how to use communications devises safely to enable them recognise any dangers or misleading information and if needed where to seek help.

The Kidsmart website provides parents with top tips and materials to help keep their kids safe online. Parents can learn about the SMART rules, and create their own. They can also watch video tutorials on services popular with children and young people, such as Google, Bebo and MSN.

resources for Parents.The Microsoft site has advice for Parents to help children stay safe online with a mix of supervision, technology, and skills. Phonebrain is the brain child of PhonepayPlus, the UK regulator for phone-paid services, and was set up to educate young people about these services - including the costs involved and how to make use of them without getting charged more than expected. Is supported by the DCSF. This section will tell you how to prevent premium rate related problems, teach your child about these issues and trouble shoot.
